UG Symposium
The year 1905, known popularly as 'Annus Mirabilis' or 'The Miraculous Year' in field of Physics, saw the publication of four ground breaking research papers that forever changed the course of Physics and of our perception of the physical world at large. The person responsible for ushering in this revolution was a young graduate student working part time at a patent office named Albert Einstein, aged 26.
Throughout the history of science, most of the revolutionary work have come from the youth.
Heisenberg and Schrödinger, the pioneers of Quantum Theory are also leading examples.
Therefore in order to celebrate the spirit of youth and vitality in the scientific endeavor, The UG symposium brings to the lime light the remarkable research done by undergraduates, in order to promote such research interests among the young and aspiring and to give a platform to enthusiastic students to present their work in front of experienced physicists.
The topics of the symposium vary from the rigors of Theoretical Physics to applied topics in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Condensed Matter Physics along with inter disciplinary subjects like biophysics, econophysics etc. We invite all to be a part of the experience.
Do come discover the researcher in you!
This event is open to all students BSc/BTech-MTech/MSc/Int BS-MS students. Please note that in case of Int MSc–PhD only up to first year are allowed to participate. Students in their gap year between BSc and MSc or MSc and PhD are also eligible for participation. The decision of the SOC will be final in determining whether a particular abstract will be selected for online talk or poster presentation.
